Partnership Working
Under the guidance of the SPB, RHL offers a system of joint working between partners, bringing an integrated approach to health and social care needs as well as a complete alignment of commissioning strategy and estate management across public sector boundaries. Although the early RHL developments lacked non-NHS services, it is clear that huge benefits can and should be achieved by co-locating healthcare with social services. Elsewhere in the country Local Authorities have been full LIFTCo partners, thereby ensuring developments provided capacity for library services, local authority information points and payment points for council tax and other business relationships with the public. Sports and leisure facilities can also be incorporated in a healthy living environment, enhancing health and well being, promoting social inclusion and reducing crime and disorder. Opportunities for all such developments will always be explored, demonstrating simply and accurately the gap between the optimum overall service delivery package and the existing public sector estate, ultimately finding the best way forward to implement change with a fully aligned Commissioning and Estates Strategy across an entire sector.
